Seamus Lyte is dead: agent who represented Carrie Fisher in Britain was 54 years old

Seamus Lyte, the late Carrie Fisher’s British agent, has died of glioblastoma at his home in Los Angeles. He was 54.

The founder and managing partner of Seamus Lyte Management passed away peacefully last week in the presence of his husband of ten years, Andrew Wishart.

His death followed a three-year battle with glioblastoma, a fast-growing and extremely aggressive form of brain cancer, according to Lyte’s friend, Independent Talent Group agent Laura Hill.

Lyte’s career spans 25 years and he has built a consistent client base including war of stars Actor Fisher, British meteorologist Siân Lloyd, actor and presenter Christopher Biggins, couturier David Emanuel and television presenter and radio DJ Tyler West.

Hill said: “Seamus will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched. His legacy as a talented and highly respected entertainer will continue to inspire and bring joy to those who remember him.”

Lyte moved to LA in 2017 after two decades in London to better serve his US-based clients and expand his company’s brand development and management capabilities. His company’s website said it will work closely with global broadcasters and production companies “to provide customers with an exemplary and customized service.”

Lyte also managed ITV’s US correspondent, presenter and actor Ross King, who said: “Seamus was simply one of a kind. Loved by all he met. A sparkling wit, the worst sense of humor and great business acumen. He had the most endearing and unique way of making everyone he met feel special. I lost my dearest friends.”

In accordance with Lyte’s wishes, there will be no funeral, but a celebration of his life is planned for early 2024.
