How Claire’s story, a rape victim, is exploited by the far right

In a video shared by Éric Zemmour on X, the young woman says she was raped in the lobby of her building by a man subject to OQTF (obligation to leave French territory). As if the origin and status of the man mattered more than the gravity of the act itself.

While the immigration law, rejected by the left and associations for its harshness, is currently being discussed in the National Assembly, Éric Zemmour spoke of rape in the mid-afternoon in the atrium of his building in the 8th arrondissement of Paris, when he had I just went shopping. His rapist, explains the young woman, would be a man subject to the OQTF (obligation to leave French territory). A testimony taken up and shamelessly exploited by the far right.

9 out of 10 rapes are committed by someone close to the victim

In her interview with the president of Reconquête, Claire insists on the origin of her rapist. Éric Zemmour immediately raises the question of the man’s migratory status, trying at all costs to demonstrate that the problem is not so much that the young woman was raped, but rather that her attacker “he had nothing to do on French soil”, evidence that the policies in place are insufficient. “ You told me he was already under OQTF, right? He had to be deported, right? Is he an illegal alien who should have been deported? » he added obsessively. One wonders whether he is convinced that French people born in the territory do not rape, or that all people under the OQTF are aggressors.

The young woman agrees, explains that she “he rebelled because he didn’t do his job”what if “If it had been done in advance, it wouldn’t have happened” and states that the ” three-quarters ” raped women are “by this type of individual”. A statistic that came out of the hat: as already highlighted in 2018 by an information report presented by the delegation of the National Assembly for women’s rights and equal opportunities between men and women on rape, in 9 out of 10 cases the aggressor is someone close to the victim. And in 45% of rapes it is the spouse or ex-spouse.

This does not stop Éric Zemmour from adding another layer, determined to completely distort the words of feminist activists – who remind us that the victim is never responsible –, to serve his racist ideology: “It is the State that must protect you, it is not up to you to be careful, on the contrary. You lived normally, it was completely logical. What is not logical is that this African, one, is in France, and two, has not left yet. You had nothing to do with it, you’re not guilty. Instead, we must ask ourselves: how can we ensure that these people are no longer on French soil, because they have nothing to do there? ».

He could have said it “How can we convince men to stop raping? ». But this would surely have been too much to ask of him, as he himself was accused of sexual assault by eight women.
