Universal Destinations & Experiences has announced new details about Universal Kids Resort, the first theme park designed specifically for families with young children, planned for Frisco, Texas.
First announced in January, the project includes a theme park with family-friendly attractions and themed areas, interactive displays, merchandise, food and drink options and character meet-and-greets, as well as a 300- room theme hotel like Universal wants. introducing himself and his stories to a young audience in new markets. The foundation for the area was laid last month.
The resort “will inspire children’s unbridled creativity through imagination, discovery and, most importantly, play,” said Molly Murphy, president of Universal Creative. “We designed the resort so that children and families can feel the thrill of physically immersing themselves in their most beloved stories and characters.”
The park is set in a lush green landscape with a special look, feel and scale, especially for younger children. The Comcast/NBCUniversal division said the resort will create thousands of jobs, including more than 2,500 new construction jobs.
Universal chose the city of Frisco because of the city’s growing population and its ability to attract businesses to the area.
