Fox News topped the cable news network ratings in November, but its numbers were down in nearly every category from during the same period in 2022, when midterm election news dominated coverage.
MSNBC saw a slight increase in total daytime viewers compared to November 2022, but otherwise the networks saw a decline.
In primetime, Fox News averaged 1.73 million viewers, down 29% from November 2022. MSNBC averaged 1.136 million, down 5%, and CNN averaged 540,000 viewers, down 28%. In the 25-54 demo, Fox News averaged 199,000, down 44%, compared to CNN at 122,000, down 36%, and MSNBC at 109,000, down 26%.
Overall, Fox News averaged 1.18 million viewers, down 25%, compared to MSNBC with 778,000, up 3%, and CNN with 474,000, up 15%. In the 25-54 demo, Fox News averaged 143,000, down 37%, compared to 93,000 for CNN, down 13%, and 81,000 for MSNBC, down 13%.
The five was the top-rated weekday news program on cable television, averaging 2.87 million viewers, followed by Jesse Watters Primetime with 2.57 million, Hannity with 2.26 million, Special report with 2.18 million and The Ingraham Corner with 2.15 million.
In the 25-54 demo Gutfeld! with an average of 277,000, followed by Jesse Watters Primetime with 273,000, The five with 270,000, Hannity with 260,000 and The Ingraham Corner with 221,000.
The pairing of Rachel Maddow and Alex Wagner in MSNBC’s MF timeslot averaged 1.57 million viewers and 158,000 in the 25-54 demo. However, Maddow averaged 2.4 million on Monday, surpassing that figure Hannity and CNNs The Source with Kaitlan Collins total viewers.
MSNBC’s best weekday program was Deadline: White Houseaveraged 1.61 million viewers and The Beat with Ari Melber was the top show in the 25-54 demo, averaging 166,000. was CNN’s most-watched weekday program Erin Burnett in frontan average of 741,000, and Anderson Cooper 360 was tops among 25 to 54-year-olds with an average of 151,000.
