Blink49 Studios brings Kristina Lauren Anderson, Remy Solomon and Natalie Krinsky together in upcoming dramas

EXCLUSIVE: Kristina Lauren Anderson, Remy Solomon and producer Natalie Krinsky do business with Canada’s Blink49 Studios.

Anderson is committed to writing If we were villainsthe drama series co-produced by John Morayniss’s Blink49 Enlightenment lessons creator Eleven, while Solomon will adapt Marissa Stapley’s novel Things to do when it rains. Natalie Kriński (gossip girl, Grey’s Anatomy) signed an executive producer contract for the latter.

Anderson will adapt ML Rio’s book for the screen, described as a “frighteningly suspenseful novel that follows seven young Shakespearean actors at an elite university where competition is fierce, rivalries dangerous and the line between life and art perilous thin.” When tragedy strikes in their senior year and one of them dies, the others must prove to the police – and themselves – that they are innocent. As of 2017, more than 180,000 copies of the book have been sold in English.

The series was launched in September. The production includes Eleven executive producer Jamie Campbell and co-executive producers Jennifer Pick, Carolyn Newman and Virginia Rankin producing for Blink49, along with Rio, Tony-nominated producer Christopher Maring of CM Stage Productions and Andrew Williamson. , Henrik Meyer and Enuka Okuma. The series is moderated by Alix Steerman of Blink49.

Anderson is known, among other things, for his writing Catherine the great, directed by Barbara Streisand; and was a limited series producer for TNT The stranger. They are represented by WME and managed by MGMT Entertainment.

Solomon will write in the meantime Things to do when it rains, an epic romantic drama set in Canada’s 1,000 Islands that confronts a woman driven by deception and a desire to return to her grandparents’ inn, where as a young girl she meets her first love, who later disappeared without a trace. Interest in the book has soared since Reece Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine Book Club adapted Stapley’s novel Happy as his first Canadian selection.

A former Chicago playwright and producer, Solomon currently runs a mini-space for a show she created and sold as a no-name streamer, and has projects in development at Osprey Productions and Eighty-Two Cent Productions . She has written thirteen novels and narrative audio novels for an app-based startup.

Krinsky, who previously had contracts with Fox, among others, will serve as executive producer. Newman and Rankin will serve as executive producers for Blink49, with the company’s Steerman overseeing the project, which was revealed in March.

The news, announced on the Content London stage today, comes after Blink49 teamed up with Lilly Singh’s Unicorn Island Productions in season five to develop a novel ARZU in a drama series with Geetika Lizardi (Bridgerton) attached to write. Charithra Chandran (Bridgerton) is set to star.
