Sean “Diddy Combs has been accused of sexual assault for the second time in as many weeks.
In a lawsuit filed Wednesday in New York Supreme Court, Joi Dickerson-Neal claims the rapper and record mogul drugged and sexually abused her in 1991 and later engaged in “revenge pornography.” She claims she has “significant and life-long injuries”.
Dickerson-Neal was a student at Syracuse University at the time of the alleged attack. She appeared briefly in one of Combs’ music videos. She says they were at a dinner party in Harlem, which resulted in her being “deliberately intoxicated” after she left her drink unattended. The impact left her “in a physical condition where she was unable to stand or walk independently,” the lawsuit states.
The plaintiff also claims they left in Combs’ car.
“Combs first drove to a music studio where she could not get out of the car, and then went to a place where he was staying to sexually assault her,” the complaint states. “Because she was intoxicated, the plaintiff lacked the physical or mental capacity to fight Combs,” the lawsuit states.
A spokesman for Combs told the media that the woman’s allegations were “fictitious and not credible” and “purely a money grab”.
The lawsuit — which also names Bad Boy Entertainment and other Combs companies — falls under New York’s Adult Survivors Act, which gives sexual assault plaintiffs one year to file civil claims regardless of the statute of limitations. This window closed on Thursday.A
Several other men were accused of sexual assault this week as the ASA deadline approached, including Jamie Foxx, Axl Rose, Cuba Gooding Jr., Marcellus Wiley and Sebastian Chacon.
“This last-minute lawsuit is an example of how a well-intentioned law can be turned on its head,” the spokesman said. “Mr. Combs never attacked her and she involved companies that did not exist,” the report continued.
Last week, the rapper’s former girlfriend, Cassandra Ventura aka Cassie, sued Combs for rape and severe physical and psychological abuse. The case was settled out of court less than 24 hours after it was filed.
