Get ready to say goodbye to one of the best series of the last 10 years. Season 6 of The crownwhich will also be the last, will be broadcast in two parts. The first comes out today, Thursday 16 Novemberand the second is scheduled for December 14th.
The Crown, season 6: what will it be about?
The pattern remains the same from the beginning: each season deals with a decade of Elizabeth II’s reign. The latter, crowned at just 25 years old, died on 8 September 2022 at Balmoral Castle, Scotland.
Remember, season 5 of The Crown series ended shortly before the events that many of us still remember, in the late 1990s: the deaths of Princess Diana, Princess Margaret — the Queen’s sister — and the Queen Mother. The divorce of the heir to the crown was registered, we got a glimpse of the future relationship between Diana and Dodi Al-Fayed and we got a glimpse of the tensions within the royal family.
In the sixth season, which will also be the lastwe will most likely be able to find out about Princess Diana’s funeral – her accident must not be shown – witness the queen’s crushing silence in front of her tearful people, find out how Charles and Camilla managed to officially confess their relationship…
Furthermore, we will also discover the next generation, with the meeting between Princess Kate and Prince William, played by Ed McVey and Meg Bellamy. The history between Meghan and Harry should not be discussed, as it is still too recent in the history of the royal family.
As for the casting, it remains the same as in season five: Imelda Staunton as Elizabeth II, Elizabeth Debicki, great, as Diana Spencer, Dominic West as Prince Charles and Jonathan Pryce as the Duke of Edinburgh.
If no official trailer has yet been released, Netflix knows how to make our mouths water by broadcasting this short trailer, where we can listen to the voices of the previous interpreters of the Queen of England:
If some people get a little tired of the atmosphere of the fifth season, we can only hope that this final season lives up to our expectations. I don’t know about you, but we’ve already got the blanket, cups of tea and cupcakes ready. Waiting for November 16th!
