Pregnant woman ‘seriously injured by falling Rottweiler’: Mother-to-be is in serious condition after dog fell from third-floor window, injuring victim

A pregnant woman was seriously injured after being hit by a Rottweiler who fell from a third floor balcony.

Cody’s owner, Emilia Mikela Pawlak (27), is in a serious condition in hospital after the accident on Friday on Via Frattina, one of the most beautiful streets in central Rome.

“It landed straight on the asphalt, she took a step back and hit her head on the ground,” one person told La Repubblica.

The dog died on impact and its owner is said to be distraught, Italian news agency Ansa reported.

In April, an Italian woman “tore” her brother’s Rottweiler when she tried to feed him.

Patrizia La Marca (53) stopped at her brother’s house in the coastal town of Ventimiglia in the afternoon to look after his dog when it attacked her.

Neighbors heard her calling for help and first aid found her in a pool of blood with gruesome bites to her head, arms, chest and shoulders.

Due to the dog’s aggressive nature, it took first responders two hours to help La Marca. Eventually, officers shot and wounded him before taking him to a city jail, Il Giornale reports.

In another tragic death in Italy, the boss of an Italian cheese company was crushed to death in August after 15,000 wheels of cheese buried him in his own factory.

Giacomo Chiapparini, 74, was found dead by firefighters after a board broke at his factory in the northern region of Lombardy at around 9pm, causing a deadly domino effect that sent thousands of Grana Padano wheels falling.
