Christine Romans joins NBC News as senior business correspondent

As expected, Christine Roman joins NBC News after leaving CNN last summer.

Romans will be a senior business correspondent in New York, reporting as part of the business and technology division for NBC News and MSNBC.

Romans left CNN in July after 24 years, during which she also served as the network’s anchor Early start and as chief business correspondent. Laura Jarrett, who was a co-host Early startleft the network last year and moved to NBC News.

As our senior economics correspondent in New York, Christine will cover all aspects of major business news, focusing on the economy: inflation, jobs, wages, debt, the Fed, manufacturing and trade, regional trends and their impact on the economy. the daily lives of Americans across the country.

As an Emmy Award-winning journalist, Christine has earned a reputation for bringing complex, complex financial news and economic policy to the public. Before joining NBC News, Christine was chief correspondent and anchor of “Early Start” for CNN. During her 24 years at CNN, she was at the forefront of covering the network’s biggest news and financial stories from Wall Street to Washington. She was involved early on in the rise of cryptocurrency and the collapse of FTX, leading coverage of the pandemic’s sudden and turbulent impact on the economy and its recovery. Christine has moderated coverage of the 2023 regional banking crisis, the 2008-2009 financial crisis, and the Internet bubble and crisis. In her spare time, Christine has written several books on personal finance and financial management.
