A tourist has been killed and three injured after a glass walkway broke at a popular beauty spot in Indonesia.
The tragedy occurred when eleven tourists from Cilacep, Central Java, crossed the Geong Bridge, about ten meters above the forest floor, at around 10:00 on Wednesday.
Two fell through the glass into the Limpakuwus pine forest below, where one was later pronounced dead. The others suffered minor injuries.
Two others were thrown by the sudden collapse and managed to cling to the frame, while video footage showed brave bystanders helping from the bridge.
Police are now investigating the incident and have set up a crime scene after the attraction’s management ignored complaints about the bridge’s safety.

A nearby video shows a tourist struggling to climb back up immediately after the glass walkway broke earlier this week.
The camera focuses again to reveal the body of another unnamed tourist below, who has fallen through the glass.
At the top, bystanders rush to the aid of the trapped tourist before helping him off the bridge.
Fortunately, ten tourists were able to escape out of sight, only three suffered minor injuries.
Ekop Purnomo, chairman of the Limpakuwus Pine Forest Cooperative, reportedly contacted the Geong’s manager in April when the bridge opened and asked for a safety assessment.
He said he contacted The Geong’s manager after receiving complaints on social media raising concerns about the bridge’s safety.
Purnomo claimed that up to five percent of visitors filed their complaints online.
He added that the bridge manager decided not to attend the standard review meeting and instead sent a representative.
“There was no discussion. “We just left a message,” he said Wednesday.
Purnomo agreed to close the forest – which is managed separately from the bridge – at the request of local police while the investigation continues.

The glass bottom bridge is located at a resort on Mount Piyan in the Chinese city of Longjing.
A terrifying image reportedly showed a man clinging to the railing after winds of up to 150 km/h blew away the glass panes on Friday.
According to a Straits Times report, the man was trapped on the bridge for a short time.
He crawled to safety, escorted by firefighters, police and forestry and tourism workers.
