Mass shooting in Maine: Patrick Dempsey speaks out about the massacre in his hometown of Lewiston

The day after twin shootings at a bowling alley and a restaurant left at least 18 people dead and 13 injured in Maine, reports said Grey’s Anatomy Star Patrick Dempsey shared his reaction to the violence in Lewiston (population 36,000), his hometown.

“I am shocked and deeply saddened by the tragedy last night in my hometown,” Dempsey wrote on Instagram on Thursday. “Maine’s great strength is that it is [sic] A sense of community and how we are called to come together to support all those devastated by this senseless act. My family and I are deeply saddened by the victims, their families and the community.”

Dempsey’s reaction to a massacre in the small town where he grew up is reminiscent of that of Matthew McConaughey, who less than a year ago reacted to the senseless killing of 19 students and two adults in a school shooting in his hometown. Uvalde. Texas. (15,000 inhabitants).

Comedians Pete Davidson and John Mulaney have postponed their weekend shows in Maine because of last night’s tragedy.

A suspect in the shooting is still on the run.
