Comedians John Mulaney and Pete Davidson postpone shows in Maine after mass shooting in Lewiston

Comedians John Mulaney and Pete Davidson have postponed two shows in Maine scheduled for this weekend following the Oct. 25 mass shooting in the town of Lewiston.

According to Janet Mills, governor of Maine, 18 people were killed and 13 injured in the shooting.

“We are devastated by the events in Lewiston,” Mulaney wrote on behalf of himself and Davidson in a post on his Instagram Stories. “The shows scheduled for this weekend in Maine on Saturday October 28 and Sunday October 29 have been postponed. We are thinking of you all.”

The search for the shooting of suspect Robert Card continues Thursday. Mills said he should be considered “armed and dangerous.” Maine State Police have ordered shelters to be set up in the cities of Lewiston, Lisbon and Bowdoin while the search continues and has already led to the identity of Card’s white SUV.

Card, 40, described as a firearms instructor, reportedly opened fire on the 25th at two locations in Lewiston, including a bowling alley and a bar and grill. President Joe Biden then ordered all American flags to be lowered to half-staff to commemorate those who died.

Mulaney and Davidson are touring North America together until November. The couple’s statement can be found below.
