EXCLUSIVE: An Israeli undertaker says horrors inflicted on Hamas victims are “worse than the Holocaust”, including beheaded pregnant woman and her beheaded unborn child

A volunteer who works in the morgue of a military base and cleans the bodies of mutilated Israeli soldiers before their burial says the brutality of Hamas’ mass murder of innocents is “worse than the Holocaust”.

Shari has the grim task of removing mutilated corpses from body bags that are on stretchers at the morgue at the Shura military base near Tel Avivbefore preparing them as best they can for burial.

The architect and mother of four told MailOnline: “Growing up in New Jersey, I heard stories about Auschwitz. But what I saw here with my own eyes is worse than the Holocaust.”

Shari, who did not want her last name released to protect her family’s safety, is working with the Israel Defense Forces’ Rabbinical Corps, which officially identifies the remains of the remains found after Hamas forces killed her soldiers. Protect – to give their families the opportunity and bury them as quickly as possible, as is Jewish custom.

Still wearing the clothes of a long and tiring shift preparing the dead for burials, she told MailOnline: “We wash the bodies and prepare them for burial. “We try to give them dignity in death.

“But what these barbarians have done to these people is indescribable.”

“There is evidence of mass rapes that were so brutal that they broke the pelvises of their victims – women, grandmothers, children -.”

“I volunteered to prepare the bodies of murdered women so they would receive the respect they deserved.

“I’m a mother from New Jersey. I moved to Israel twenty years ago. I am a normal person.

“I never expected to be confronted with what I saw.

“People whose heads have been chopped off.” Women standing in their nightgowns woke up and shot. Faces were shot away. Heads smashed and their brains taken out.

“A pregnant woman cut out and decapitated a baby, and then the mother was decapitated.

“Women and children burned to charcoal.” Corpses killed with their hands tied behind their backs.

“My mother and grandmother are Holocaust survivors. They were the only family members to leave Auschwitz alive after being deported from their homes in Czechoslovakia.

“All their brothers and sisters, uncles and aunts were killed there.

Shari first volunteered two years ago – initially to wash and prepare the bodies of fallen soldiers. She said she took on the gruesome task because she was determined to spare young recruits the pain of death and help victims regain their dignity.

As Shari explained her work, she was surrounded by a row of refrigerated containers of bodies and a row of bloodstained military stretchers.

A few meters away, undertakers worked, their faces covered with surgical masks. During their 12-hour shift, they hold their heads and sip hot water bottles while taking a break.

Almost two weeks after the surprise attack, ambulances arrive with body bags containing the remains of civilians and soldiers.

Some were shot at such close range that their features were no longer recognizable. Others are missing limbs.

The Israel Defense Forces Rabbinate Corps is trying to officially identify the bodies, in some cases just body parts, so families can bury their loved ones as quickly as possible, in accordance with Jewish custom.

Of the more than 1,400 victims of Hamas’ brutal attack on October 7, some 200 were so badly mutilated and burned that their identification was only possible through DNA or dental records.

While they wait to be examined, the bodies – or body parts – are loaded into the refrigerated containers. But after lying in the hot desert sun for days when they were killed, the decomposition process had already begun.

Colonel Rabbi Haim Weisberg said: “We have already identified the bodies of 800 people and are working on another 500.”

“But every day we get more bodies. Last night we received another 73 bodies.

“We see evidence of torture and cruelty.”

“We have babies whose heads have been cut off. Body without hands, without legs, without genitals.

“The traditional way would be for a child to say Kaddish [the burial prayer] for his parents. But here we have entire families where no one can say Kaddish [the burial prayer] for her.

“That is why we must eliminate the terrorists and destroy Hamas.”

Dentist Dr. Shir Kishales added: “If you imagine the worst horror movie ever made, the reality of the injuries to the bodies that we see is worse, much worse.”
