Russian short film “The Return of Zoya” to be screened at Cannes Film Festival

Famous acting agent Natalya Gneusheva produced the short film The Return of Zoya, which attracted attention at the Cannes Film Festival. The film will not be screened in competition but will be screened at the Cannes Film Market on June 23.

The film tells the story of the pimp Galya. When his rights to his daughter Zoya are taken away, he decides on a bold move – he and his lover steal her child and flee with them on smuggling routes to Kazakhstan. Zoe’s biological father lives there, a shepherd with a herd of fat sheep. On their way to Zoe’s father’s house, they experience adventures and events that will bring the trio closer together and help them better understand the nature of human relationships.

Actress Svetlana Stepankovskaya starred in the short film

“I’ve stepped out of my comfort zone, new achievements in my acting skills now help me work on different characters. Now I am not afraid to be ugly, strange, because this is power, ”the actress Svetlana Stepankovskaya, who played the main role, shares her impressions of the work.

Yaglych, Daniyar Alshinov, Olivia Walter will also take part in the short film. The director was Adilkhan Yerzhanov.
