At 26, Fanny Rosa Viegas is, in her own words, “not very good with sneakers”. She has just moved to the south of France, she has left her friends, her job… In short, she no longer knows where she is. Especially after three difficult years spent at her father’s bedside, her supporting him in his fight against cancer.
A cancer that appears regularly in Fanny’s family, especially breast cancer, the one that killed her grandmother. A genetic predisposition that hovers over her and pushes her to be more vigilant about her body.
Furthermore, in June 2016, when she had just celebrated her 26th birthday, Fanny performed a gesture that she had already done hundreds, thousands of times: a quick self-examination, to check that everything was fine. But that evening she had a strange lump in her breast. She has a premonition, an anxiety and immediately makes an appointment with the gynecologist.
This is the beginning of a real obstacle course… How to urgently find specialists when you live in a medical desert? Being listened to by doctors when you are a very young woman? And above all, how to navigate between denial and anxiety when faced with the imminence of the diagnosis? Fanny tells all this without taboos in the first episode “ A strange ball”.
