“Night Of The Kings” director Philippe Lacote lines up “7 Golden Thieves” for Memento’s Paradise City

Exclusive: Favorite drama of the festival and Academy Award nominated The night of the kingIvory Coast director Philippe Lacotte is developing a new feature film 7 gold thief (The 7 Voleurs D’Or) With his producer and co-writer Dolphin Jacket and Memento’s reissue of Paradise City Banner.

The story is based on true faith. In West Africa and Malinke, gold has an ambivalent social function in the imagination, giving it prestige and respect. However, those who steal gold are cursing seven generations of their family. The project follows one man’s aspiration to free his family from this ancient curse. Combining the stories of its predecessors over the centuries, the film spans West Africa and the United States.

Pending filming in 2024, the film is currently in development and will be announced to potential partners in Cannes.

Banshee Films and Wassakara Productions co-produce with Paris-based Paradise City, directed by Emily George and Naima Abedi. The expectation is that Memento will sell the project, although this is not a sales focal point in this market.

Paradise City, headquartered in London and Paris, has a manufacturing and management division in Memento.
