Skateboarding sneakers combined with classic suits and pajama shorts in the new Dior Resort 2023 men’s collection

Skateboarding sneakers combined with classic suits and pajama shorts in the new Dior Resort 2023 men’s collection

At the end of last year, all the world media and trendy Telegram channels unanimously claimed that Eli Russell Linnetz is one of the most promising and brightest designers of the new decade. And that we’ll see her brand ERL long on street style heroes and fashion influencers. If you think you’ve never seen Eli’s work, you’re wrong. Remember the colorful A$AP Rocky quilt at the Met Gala? So this thing is his work.

This year, the young designer was one of the finalists for the LVMH Award and also collaborated with Kim Jones on the creation of the Dior capsule. WWD reported this a few days ago and gave a small spoiler that the collection combines ’90s style, skateboarding and tailoring culture. Yesterday, a teaser was released on Dior social networks with one of the most famous tiktokers in America, Vinnie Hacker.

And already tonight, we saw the show itself, which took place in the Venice Beach area, between two busy highways in California. The venue is made in nautical tones and finished with neon signs. In the collection itself, Jones and Linnetz presented 40 looks and focused on lingerie style, classics and ornaments (although the designers themselves didn’t quite like it), and brand archives.

For the capsule, Jones and Linnetz redesigned the iconic Saddle bag (which every fashion blogger seemed to have a few years ago). It was presented at the show in three versions: satin, fur and sequins. And all on a huge gold chain.

By the way, Eli, while working with the archives, was clearly inspired by John Galliano, because several models appeared on the catwalk at once, along with branded newspaper prints. And one of the most important models of the line was the updated Diorella jacket, which was released in 1996.

I want to pay special attention to sneakers, which all the hypebeasts will be hunting for this season. Evidently reminiscent of the aesthetics of the late 2000s, the model blends harmoniously with classic suits and pajama pants with its cannage pattern.

We are showing even more images from the new collection in our gallery.
