If you think that fashion and music exist separately, we hasten to assure you that this is not so. Both fields are inextricably linked, and clips, concerts and tours prove this. From time to time, favorite artists show up on the music scene with great images, which are then analyzed by the glossy media and quoted by millions of fans. Meanwhile, legendary designers who create real masterpieces are often employed to create the costumes.

But today we are only concerned with zeros. And more specifically, the cost of the most expensive stage costumes of artists in the entire history of the music scene.

Moreover, the environment is quite suitable for such materials. Exactly 65 years ago, on August 29, 1958, the King of Pop Michael Jackson was born. And, as you know, she loved to shock the audience with magnificent costumes. So, here are the seven most expensive paintings.

Katy Perry’s dress

Cost: 20 thousand dollars (about 1.9 million rubles)

We will begin the selection of the most expensive and luxurious with the image of Katy Perry, which she took part in the Super Bowl in 2015. Since she was the protagonist of the biggest sporting event of the year, the costume had to match. The singer turned to Jeremy Scott, who later became Moschino’s creative director, for help. He was the one who created Perry’s dress for $20,000.

And again, it’s from the Super Bowl, but this time it will be about Shakira. During the performance, the Colombian singer managed to change several images, one brighter than the other. But the highlight of the whole performance was the red boots decorated with Swarovski crystals, which, by the way, totaled 30 thousand. It is not surprising that the boots cost the singer almost two million rubles.

Taylor Swift’s dress

Cost: 21 thousand dollars (about 2 million rubles)

Taylor Swift also spares no expense for her stage visuals. Recently, the singer went on a big tour, the clothes of which deserve a separate article. Guests and viewers who came to the concert saw Oscar De La Renta’s overalls for 3 thousand dollars and Roberto Cavalli’s overalls for 2 thousand dollars. But the most memorable image was the 21 thousand-seat pink ball gown that fashion house Zuhair Murad created for the singer.

Elton John Tuxedo

Cost: 100 thousand dollars (about 9.5 million rubles)

No one dares to argue with the fact that Elton John is the king of the scene and the genius of ugly images. All her outfits were thought out to the smallest detail and the concept was 100% consistent. One of Elton John’s most famous outfits is a Mozart-inspired suit. In 1988, the singer sold it (and many more) at an auction – as a symbolic farewell to the past. Some time later, the new owner resold the white Mozart tuxedo for $100,000.

Cost: 289 thousand dollars (about 27 million rubles)

So we have reached the king of pop music. In 1987, Michael Jackson’s first world tour took place, touring 15 countries and giving 123 concerts. In one of them, the singer appeared on stage wearing a black jacket with silver details. The image, of course, went down in history and became almost the most quoted image. Years later, this concert outfit sold at auction for a crazy sum of $289,000.

Michael Jackson Diamond Gloves

Cost: 350 thousand dollars (about 33 million rubles)

It was not possible to limit one wardrobe item. The next expensive batch is the diamond glove, which has become the “chip” of the king of pop. Legend has it that the idea to wear one glove arose during Jackson’s tour of the Robert Abel & Associates office. There, watching the tapes, he noticed that director Rick Ross was wearing a white cotton glove on his right hand. The musician liked this technique and wanted to get the latter. Since the accessory needed attention, Jackson wanted to embroider it with rhinestones and sequins. And a few years later the same glove, decorated with diamonds, appeared. After the singer’s death, it was sold at auction for a record $350,000.

Elvis Presley jacket

Cost: 1 million dollars (about 95 million rubles)

However, the most expensive stage image belongs to Elvis Presley, not Michael Jackson. In 1972, the king of rock ‘n’ roll performed at New York’s Madison Square Garden sports complex in a luxurious white jumpsuit and cape. This image was created specifically for the singer by designer Bill Belew. Two years ago, the suit was sold at auction for $1 million. Meanwhile, the buyer has decided to keep his name confidential.
