Serious forest fires broke out in Antalya, Manisa and Kahramanmaraş. According to the country’s General Directorate of Forestry, authorities are now trying to do everything to put them out.
In the statement made on the agency’s Twitter page, “We continue to fight against forest fires in Antalya’s Kaş, Kemer and Taşhayl districts, and in Manisa’s Sarukhanlı and Kahramanmaraş’s Dulkadiroğlu villages.” It is worth noting that the fires in Kemer are located near the places where tourists rest.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan urged residents and visitors to be especially wary of forest fires and to avoid fire sources near forests. According to him, 24 aircraft, 100 helicopters and 10 unmanned aerial vehicles are currently involved. In addition, Russian amphibious aircraft are also used in the region.
