All for this: The Idol will stop as soon as the next episode

The series from the creator of Euphoria will finally have only five episodes, instead of the six originally planned. As yet, HBO has not announced whether the series will be eligible for a season 2 and will end permanently next week.

While the fourth episode of The idol was posted yesterday on Prime Video, the American media TV line announced that the series would be shortened : The Sam Levinson series it will end with the next episode. In total, therefore, this first season will only count five episodes.

An artistic choice by Sam Levinson?

Originally, HBO commissioned six episodes series starring Lily-Rose Depp and The Weeknd, which hasn’t stopped flowing since its release on June 5th. Most critics and viewers had seen it The idol a program both problematic and disappointing. Is that why he stopped earlier than expected?

The official information does not go in this direction. While HBO has yet to release a statement, an anonymous source said TV line to which this change was due an artistic choice of showrunner Sam Levisson :

“Jocelyn Forever”: a cynical title?

Whatever the reasons that motivated this change of direction, one cannot fail to be questioned by this title. If the first few episodes of the series showed an image humiliating and retrograde of the female characterone would have hoped that the rest of the program would leave it the weather necessary for towards better representations. We were wrong: for now, everything suggests that Jocelyn’s fate will be definitively sealed in the fifth and final episode.
