Left, Evocation, Mr. Babadook, Smile and even go out, many films would have deserved their place in this hellish top. Yet alone six movies enough to traumatize us for life.
Tell us in the comments the scenes we missed, for a possible part 2…

6. The Exorcist: His dislocated body descends the stairs
In The exorcist (William Friedkin, 1973), many things are scary.
We could talk about those long moments of convulsions of the poor man’s body little Reagan, whose bust continues to grow rise and fall with incredible violence on the bed, from the sequence of crucified (which we don’t I will not describe you. If you want to see it, look it up on YouTube, or rather: review the film). There is also, of course, the unspeakable head that rotates 360 degrees.
All of these scenes would have deserved their place in this ranking… and yet: in our opinion, one is so perfect that she stays the worst All.
The Spider’s Walk comes at a time when Regan’s condition is deteriorating faster and faster. We haven’t seen the baby in a while. We only know that she is in her room, upstairs. No one expects to see her coming, and she does, in the worst possible way.
Excruciatingly vicious, terribly inventive and forward-thinking, far too well executed and filmed… this scene, we’ll never get over it.

5. Insidious: “ The man with the Fire In Her face » blows on your neck

Imagine such a terrifying scene who traumatized everyone with a simple trailer.
It took the talent of horror genius James Wan (Evocation, Saw…) to achieve such a feat. The director has made his own saga a monument of horror cinema upon the release of its first installment in 2010.
Fable about death, love and sacrifice, Insidious it is mostly a visceral horror journeyfull of creatures as beautiful as they are traumatic.
In this now cult scene, Lorraine Lambert describes a nightmare and conjures a red-faced demoncalled ” The man with the Fire In Her face (the man with the fire in his face). The scene is shot in the reverse shot, alternating Lorraine’s face and that of Josh, who listens to her very carefully…too carefully.
As the camera gets closer and closer to the actor’s face, the demon pops up just over her shoulder.
Impossible not to jump and keeps the image of it in the memory for a long time that crimson face, that hooked nose, and those piercing white eyes. Horrible.

4. Follows: The 2m man with gouged out eyes will follow you to the end
It follows it is probably one of the best horror movie concept this is.
No one was ready for this story where there are no demon dolls, no ghosts, no bloodthirsty killers – just this something Who you follows, it advances towards you and it will eventually catch you.
In this film where the staging is increasingly crazy and creative and where the off-screen is perfectly dominated, the gigantic stage it is undoubtedly one of the most traumatic.
At this point in the film, Jay’s loved ones don’t understand what scares him so much. Holed up in the house, Jay, his friends and his sister are armed, ready in case anyone comes. But against all odds, it is one of his friends who appears in the doorway. The tension drops again… and immediately rises, then twice more that a huge man with gouged out eyes emerges from the darkness right behind her friend.
After that, you will never be able to stand in front of a dark corridor again.

3. Inheritance: Do you feel watched while you sleep? Six.
At this stage of our ranking, we have awakened so many traumas that we wonder why we entered this.
With Inheritance by Ari Aster, let’s touch on one of the most irritated, the stickiest, the most atrocious.
The worst with this film is that you probably don’t realize how much it has traumatized you. You’re not necessarily aware of it, you don’t have it maybe I didn’t notice everything on first viewing, but Your spirithe, sawlike in front of a picture subliminal.
If you don’t understand what I’m talking about, I invite you to watch the film again, and give it a try find out what’s wrong with this picture…

2. Invisible Man: He can destroy you in a split second and you won’t see anything
we would need a scene to figure it out‘Invisible Man is one of the most terrifying, imaginative and thrilling horror films of the last decade.
After Adrian, the violent man who plays dead so he can torture her isolated her from her loved ones, Cécilia does everything to explain to her sister the nightmare she is going through. She makes an appointment with him in a very busy restaurant, where the man has no a priori chance to act. At this point in the film, we’ve chained the scenes under tension and it seems we can release the pressure for a moment and enjoy this discussion scene in a public place.
But it was underestimate the cruel malice of the director.
As Cecilia explains to her skeptical sister what she’s going through, his knife comes up.
His sister looks at him in horror.
Cecilia follows his gaze but it is already too late: in a fraction of a second, the knife cuts the sister’s throat and nestles in her handgrabbing the attention of other customers.
THE jump fear it’s chilling to the bone, but the real horror at this point in the film is realize the extent of Adrian’s cruelty and impunity.

1. The Blair Witch Project: If the other guy has his back on you, you’re next.
The terrible thing about this sequence is that, visually, she is not impressive at all. The picture is borderline creepingbut it’s nothing to look away from, like most memorable horror movie scenes.
At the end of the film, Heather and Josh go on a desperate chase to find Josh, their missing friend. They have the impression of hearing these cries, which lead them to an abandoned house whose walls are covered bloody children’s handprints. Mike says he heard the screams at the submarine and rushes there, while Heather tries to follow, completely confused…but when she finds him, his friend has his back turned and stares at the wall…
Like a movie of which the horror is all within oversin the unhealthy slide of the characters towards loneliness, the paranoia, despair and absolute terrorthis final sequence is just a matter of suggestion.
But if you followed the movie well, you’re back in its vibe anxious to have stomach ache, the latter plan will haunt you for life.
Remember, heinous assassin legend Rustin Parr. Back in the 40s, man attracted children in his home. They he killed them one by one, placing one facing the wallBefore Take care of yourself.
This is a sordid detail: he didn’t want one child to watch him kill another…
