DIY: a lion’s head in flower, to occupy the children when it rains

Time is rotten and you no longer know how to occupy the under 6s who occupy your home? We have a quick and easy tutorial.

It’s a perfect DIY activity to occupy kids or adults who like to do cute things using their 10 fingers (not me, what).

If he’s been flitting around your house all weekend too, and you’re wondering how you’re going to occupy the half-tax living in your house, here’s what to do. It’s easy, fast, free, and fun for everyone.

Make a lion’s head in bloom from a simple piece of cardboard

To make this beautiful tutorial, you will need:

  • small spring flowers, like dandelions
  • a piece of cardboard
  • a pair of scissors
  • sense

To get started, put on all your boots and head to your local park, even in the rain (we promise, you won’t melt), to find a score of dandelions.

Go home, dry your feet before getting mud all over them, and take a piece of old cardboard lying at the bottom of the closet, the ones you saved during the lockdown “just in case”. .

Cut out a circle about a foot in diameter (or less than that, if you want little lions) and draw eyes and a snout. You don’t need to have done art school eh, it’s not really complicated.

Then drill all the way around the cardboard with the tip of the chisel. One hole per flower, so if you have 23 flowers, punch 23 holes. Easy, I know.

And there, offer your dear heir to pass the flower stalks through the holes, delicately (who is that?).

And now, it’s over! If your child is a little older, he can, in addition to the eyes and drawn muzzle, add colors, patterns or other things.

If you’re having trouble seeing the steps, here’s a video that sums it all up:
