Jens Richter has expanded his role as CEO of Fremantle International to include commercial responsibilities.
He has been appointed as CEO of Commercial and International – a position that makes him responsible for all commercial activities including digital, social and FAST channel activities.
RTL-owned Fremantle is aiming for a revenue target of 3 billion euros ($3.3 billion) by 2025, and digital is one way to boost its revenue.
Richter will remain based in London and will report to Fremantle Group CEO Jennifer Mullin. He will join Fremantle’s global leadership team.
Fremantle claim 470 million fans across 1,500 social accounts on Facebook and YouTube, reaching 34 billion views across all platforms by 2022. The FAST business includes game show channel Buzzr and online networks based on Jamie Oliver. Baywatch And american idol IK P. Quip, Sleuth, Places and Spaces and Cook, Chop, Chat represent the latest genre channel launches.
Richter, a former head of Red Arrow International, was CEO of International at Got talent And The responder Company Fremantle since 2014.
“Jens is an outstanding and business-savvy executive with extensive knowledge and experience of the international market,” Fremantle CEO Mullin said, adding that the creation of the new position would give the company “a laser focus on all commercial activities .”
Richter added, “The digital and FAST space gives us the opportunity to make an even bigger impact in the direct-to-consumer space. I look forward to the success we can build on here.”
Earlier this month, Deadline announced that Fremantle UK CEO Simon Andreae would resign after receiving allegations of wrongdoing. He was replaced by Amelia Brown.
