The tragic final phone call between the TOWIE restaurant bouncer and his wife shortly before his death is revealed as Elliot Wright says he is “absolutely devastated” by his friend’s death

The widow of the bouncer, who died after an alleged attack at former TOWIE star Elliott Wright’s Spanish restaurant, claimed he called her to say he was concerned about the number of drunken patrons there.

Romina Acuna said she took the call from her Venezuelan-born husband, Jose Rafael Pisani Pardo, 55, on Saturday night, just half an hour before he suffered the devastating head injury that led to his death in hospital a day later .

Romina told Sur about Jose’s tragic last call: “He said he would be home soon.

“I told him I wanted him to come as soon as possible. But he never came back.’

Dad-of-three Elliott paid a heartfelt tribute to his late co-worker on social media and confirmed he had temporarily closed his restaurant, Olivia’s La Cala.

“I am absolutely devastated by the loss of Jose – he was a dear friend and colleague. The whole team is mourning the loss of a wonderful person and I support them… It will take a long time to get over this if it ever happens,” said the former reality star.

Elliott added that the bar was vandalized in the days after Jose’s death, which he said left him “in complete disbelief.”

A 32-year-old Briton was arrested for the death on Tuesday in the posh resort of Marbella on the Costa del Sol.

She told prestigious Malaga newspaper Sur today that the couple plan to start a family and set up a new business in the Canary Islands selling nutritional supplements for athletes.

She also revealed he was “scared” because there were a lot of drunk customers, and she responded by telling him to be careful.

Romina said he plans to quit his job as a porter after the summer. “He didn’t like working nights, but in the summer he paid well and for a night like last weekend he could earn 150 euros.”

Police released photos on Tuesday showing heavily armed officers handcuffing the arrested Briton to a waiting car.

He has not been named and has so far only been identified by his initials – HGJS.

A spokesman for the Civil Guard said: “In connection with the death of a person following an attack, the Guardia Civil in Mijas, with the support of the GAR unit, arrested the alleged perpetrator in Marbella.

He is a British citizen and has been on the run since the incident.

“He was arrested on suspicion of causing the death of the person who lost his life after the incident at a restaurant in La Cala de Mijas.”

Late on Monday, sources confirmed police were looking for a Briton amid unconfirmed reports that Jose, a bodybuilder and personal trainer and doorman at Elliott’s popular Costa del Sol restaurant called Olivia’s La Cala, had been pushed or punched and lost his balance trying to regain composure.

Dad-of-three Elliott closed his restaurant in the resort of La Cala de Mijas for two days on Monday, admitting in a statement on Olivia’s Instagram page: “Our hearts are broken and we have closed the restaurant today and tomorrow out of respect.

“We are supporting our employees and family until further investigation is known.”

The dead man was the proud father of two grown children, probably from a previous relationship.

Romina Acuna described her new fitness enthusiast as the “love of my life” in an emotional social media post after they tied the knot and posed for pictures before getting into a white stretch limousine.

She moved to Mijas on the Costa del Sol from her previous base in Barcelona in early 2021 and the couple enjoyed a holiday together in Chile before tying the knot.

Officials took down CCTV footage from Elliott’s restaurant, which was destroyed in an arson attack two years ago and was the target of spray-painting vandals on Monday night, after interviewing staff on the day Jose died in hospital.

He was admitted to the intensive care unit at Malaga University Hospital early on Sunday morning.

He has been the concierge at Olivia’s La Cala for the past two years.

The results of an autopsy believed to have taken place Monday have not been released and are not expected to be made official, but will be sent to a coroner who is leading an ongoing investigation into Jose’s death.

Local reports say the porter bumped his head against the edge of a table when he tried to intervene in a scuffle.

But well-placed sources said he slammed the back of his head directly onto the floor rather than a table, saying he went down to fend off one of the errant guests.

One said: “The local reports are talking about a group of people fighting, but it was between two people.

“The porter fell when he tried to send one of the two men away.”

Diario Sur reported today that CCTV footage obtained by police shows a man punching Jose after he broke away from him after trying to restrain him following an outbreak of violence at the restaurant.
