Fox Alternative Entertainment (FAE) is expanding its international roster through its International Formats Fund.
The in-house Fox Unscripted Studio today presented a pair of series created by the fund. Beat my mini limes (working title) is for TF1 in France and marriage market is for the German ProSieben.
FAE created and funded both and will own and distribute them as formats.
Developed with the French commercial network TF1, Beat my mini limes is billed as a huge studio competition where famous singers compete against each other while surrounded by talented kids wearing the same outfit as them – their “mini-knife”. After several performances, a child is crowned champion. TF1 Production and FAE are co-producing ahead of a premiere later this year.
marriage market is a dating reality series and social experiment in which parents choose their child’s husband or wife in a “marketplace” where other parents have built booths based on their own child’s personality. The parents and the newly introduced couple then live together in a house.
Here too it was jointly developed by FAE and ProSieben. Cheerio Entertainment, part of the revamped Seven. One Studios, is producing for launch on the German network and its streaming service Joyn later this year.
FAE launched its $100m International Format Fund in September 2021 after piloting Virgin Media Television’s Irish variety competition show the big deal in collaboration with BiggerStage of Dublin as a creation for the market. Celebrity Performance Competition The masterpiece (aka famous masterpiece) for Workpoint in Thailand also emerged from the initiative.
“We designed this Format Fund specifically to work with international buyers to identify, develop and launch new programming that will expand FAE’s own content and successfully serve as a platform for future success on FOX in the United States ,” said Allison Wallach, President, Unscripted Programming at Fox Entertainment. “In Beat my mini limes and TF1 and marriage market and ProSieben we have the perfect combination of what we are aiming for with this initiative: unique formulas with unlimited opportunities on a global scale and excellent partners with an impressive track record of innovation.”
