Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Andrea Bocelli conduct the King’s Coronation Concert

Katy Perry, Take That, Andrea Bocelli and Lionel Richie are the main names announced as the first stars to perform at King Charles III’s coronation concert, which takes place the day after his episode.

The event will take place on May 7 in the grounds of Windsor Castle.

Italian opera singer Andrea Bocelli, Welsh bass-baritone Sir Bryn Terfel, Freya Ridings and classic soul composer and producer Alexis Ffrench will also perform at the celebration.

BBC Studios, producer of the show, said more names would be confirmed. Weeks ago, the show reportedly struggled to attract big name talent, with rejections citing political and scheduling reasons.

Robbie Williams is not expected to perform with Take That bandmates Gary Barlow, Howard Donald and Mark Owen. The show is a reunion of sorts for the band, who haven’t performed as a unit in years.

The show expects to welcome the four nations of the United Kingdom, with parish choirs and choirs forming a massive coronation chorus.

“The concert celebrates a new chapter in the country’s history with themes of love, respect and optimism and celebrates the four nations, their communities and the Commonwealth,” the BBC said in a statement.
