A British tourist has died after being electrocuted while taking a photo near a construction site while on holiday in India.
Former bar owner Ivan Brown, 71, reportedly grabbed the power cord when he lost his balance while taking photos in an area police described as a tourist spot.
Mr. Brown, who ran one of Norwich’s most popular sports pubs – The Murderers Pub – for almost 40 years, died tragically on Sunday.
When he spoke about his family dealing with the loss of Mr. Brown, he told ITV News Anglia: “We are all absolutely devastated and saddened that we have lost the heart and soul of our family.”
Mr Brown is said to have visited the northern state of Himachal Pradesh with a friend as part of a two-month tour of India.

The two friends were in Dalhousie village in Chamba district after arriving at a nearby village on Friday.
Reports in India claim that Mr. Brown came into contact with the wire while photographing at Baikunth Nagar in the foothills of the Himalayas.
Mr Brown and his friend, dubbed John David by the Norwich Evening News, are leaving for the city of Dharamshala today.
After Mr. Brown’s shock death, the Foreign Office said: “We are supporting the family of a Briton who died in India and are in contact with local authorities.”

According to a profile in a local newspaper, Mr. Brown was born in Costessey, South Norfolk, but his family moved to Lenwade, Norfolk when he was 11, where he attended Reepham Secondary Modern School.
After leaving school at the age of 15, Mr. Brown held various positions as a concrete inspector, draftsman and salesman before purchasing The Murderers and Gardeners Arms in 1984.
It is said that Mr. Brown was the landlord until earlier this year.
According to the pub’s website, Mr Brown’s former business partner, Philip Cutter, now co-owns the pub with Sherie Cutter.
