In 2023, there will be no E3. Almost a year after the Entertainment Software Association announced that the game industry trade show would return in 2023 following its cancellation in 2022, ESA has announced that it has been canceled again.
Consequently IGNThe Entertainment Software Association began informing members that while the show “remains a popular event and brand,” plans for E3 2023 “simply have not generated the sustained interest needed to bring it to a … Host on ‘ A way that doesn’t scale is strong and has an impact on our industry.”
The event was scheduled to take place June 13-16 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. This would have been the first in-person E3 event since 2019. The 2020 event has been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. A digital version will take place in 2021.
The cancellation comes after Microsoft, Ubisoft, Nintendo and other big players in the gaming industry announced that they would not be attending E3 in person or virtually.
News comes from several big names in the industry, from Xbox, Nintendo, PlayStation and recently Ubisoft announced that it will not attend E3 in any way, with most preferring to host their own digital showcases.
