EXCLUSIVE: Actor, professional dancer and content creator Woody McClain has signed a representation deal with M88. M88 will create and develop entertainment and strategic collaboration opportunities for McClain.
McClain currently stars in the popular Starz Network series Power Book II: Spirit as Cane Tejada since the show started in 2020. He stars alongside Mary J. Blige, who plays his mother, Monet Tejada. Season 3 of the drama premiered on March 17 and set a record viewership over its first weekend, making it the biggest Starz premiere weekend ever. Power Book II: Spirit was renewed for a fourth season prior to the premiere of the third season.
Next up is McClain in the film Path of despair should be released later this year. Written by Michael Farris Smith, Path of despair Set in Mississippi, it follows an extraordinary event that sends the entire city on a collision course, fueled by revenge, anger and regret. Other lead roles are played by Mel Gibson, Garrett Hedlund and Ryan Hurst.
He is best known for his portrayal of Bobby Brown in the BET miniseries The Bobby Brown Story. He reprized the role in BETs The story of the remakefor which he was nominated for Best Actor at the 2017 BET Awards. McClain also acted in the films The harder they fall opposite Jonathan Majors and Regina King and canal street opposite Bryshere Gray, Jon Seda and Mekhi Phifer.
