Channel One host Ekaterina Andreeva said at a forum of Kuban journalists that she does not support the ban on the Instagram social network in Russia, bypassing its unblocking using a VPN.

Andreeva noted that when the country decided to ban the social network, the Instagram ban reflected a policy of double standards, but at the same time, anyone could legally access it if they wanted to.

Recall that on March 21, the Tverskoy District Court of Moscow declared Meta, the owner of Facebook* and Instagram, an “extremist organization”. This happened after Meta refused to lift threats and calls for violence in some countries against the Russian military and President Vladimir Putin.

At the same time, the use of Facebook and Instagram by Russians is not yet illegal. Recently, the press secretary of Russian President Dmitry Peskov admitted in an interview with Belarusian television that he also bypassed blocking using a VPN.
