Disney CEO Bob Chapek recently made some very public mistakes, including how the company handled its response to the so-called Florida issue. “Don’t say gay” on the sign.
This weekend, Chapek returned to Indiana University, where he graduated, to receive an honorary doctorate and give his starting address. In it, Hammond spoke candidly about growing up in Indiana, his family’s annual trips to Disney World, and studying microbiology at university. However, this was not without its flaws.
In his speech, the Disney CEO compared himself to Iron Man and changed Disneyland’s slogan to Disney World’s.
“Seu was my ticket to a new life… I was desperate. “I’m desperate to show my dignity and not spend my family’s money on a school that was honestly reviewing my boundaries at the time,” Chapek said. Said. “But that desperation was decisive, and my dream broke expectations and opportunities. And just as an iron man draws his power from this arc reactor, I try to prove myself every day. “It’s an uninterrupted supply of electricity that stirs up doubts, hardships, and those around us who don’t value children.”
While Chapek ran Disney Parks for five years before becoming CEO in 2020, in his speech this weekend, he mistakenly referred to Walt Disney World as “the happiest place on earth.” This, of course, is the motto of Disneyland. Disney World, “The the most magical Somewhere on earth.”
