Luther: The Fallen Sun hits 3m UK viewers but struggles to keep pace with other Netflix films

Detective John Luther’s film debut helped keep millions of UK viewers on Netflix, but the film lagged far behind other films on Netflix.

Luther: The Fallen Sun was watched by 3 million people on TV, according to Barb, the official viewership research group. It has also been number one in Netflix’s top 10 films in the UK for the past two weeks.

Luther was only sixth on Netflix’s list of most-watched films since Barb began reporting streamer ratings in November 2021, according to Deadline analysis.

Glass Onion: A Mystery of Blades spent two weeks in Barb’s list of Britain’s 50 best shows and films, with a total audience of 18.5 million during that time.

Don’t look up was also on Barb’s list for two weeks, meaning it was seen by 15 million people. The Adam Project (11.1 million), The gray man (6.9 million) and Enola Holmes2 (4.6 million) also did well.

Figures include TV viewers only, meaning mobile TV is not included in the figures.
