‘I don’t want to live anymore’: Ed Sheeran explains what drove him to near suicide

Recently, one of the most famous and successful musicians made a shocking confession. The musician told Rolling Stone magazine that he had suicidal thoughts after the death of his best friend, Jamal Edwards.

Jamal passed away tragically after suffering a heart attack due to alcohol and illegal drug use. A month after a tragedy, Sheeran loses another close friend.

“There have always been real failures in my life. I felt like I didn’t want to live anymore. I became depressed and selfish. This was especially reflected in my becoming a father.

With the help of his wife, Cherry Seaborn, who encouraged him to seek help, Ed began seeing a therapist: “People think it’s awkward to hire a therapist in the UK. I think it’s very helpful to be able to talk to someone and be able to talk about it.”

In August 2020, Ed Sheeran and Cherry Seaborn became parents for the first time, their daughter Lyra Antarctica was born. And in May last year, the singer became a father for the second time!
