Paintings from the Morozov collection returned to Russia, where they were at the exhibition “Masterpieces of New Art. The Morozov Brothers Collection” in Paris. This was announced by the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Olga Lyubimova.

The shipping of the canvases took about 20 days. The collection in Paris included 67 paintings from the Pushkin Museum, 65 from the Hermitage, 33 from the Tretyakov Gallery and two from the Russian Museum.

Earlier it became known that, against the background of the military special operation of the Russian Federation in Ukraine, France decided not to return two paintings belonging to the Russian businessman Pyotr Aven, who was subject to Western sanctions, and to the Moscow Avant-garde Museum. It was founded by Vyacheslav Kantor – he also suffered sanctions. We are talking about the work “Self-portrait in gray” by Pyotr Konchalovsky, and Valentin Serov’s portrait of businessman Timofey Morozov.
