Claims that Covid-19 vaccines are “safe and effective” have now been reduced to “but”.
The US Food and Drug Administration announced on Thursday that the Johnson & Johnson/Janssen Covid-19 vaccine should only be used in emergencies. It is currently intended for use only for persons over 18 years of age for whom other vaccines are not suitable or available, or who have the J&J vaccine as their only option.
In the FDA statement, it was stated that the change was caused by thrombocytopenia syndrome (TTS) due to the risk of coagulation status from the use of the vaccine.
Thursday’s announcement will no doubt raise concerns among those resisting the COVID-19 vaccine. Many people have expressed concerns about vaccines being released without looking at the possible long-term effects in normal years. While these fears are being ridiculed as a “conspiracy theory,” today’s decision will allow resistance to stop if it has a logical basis.
