Leland Vittert Hosts NewsNation Panel Show ‘The Hill’

NewsNation launches an hour-long panel show the cup, a branded extension of Nexstar’s political website hosted by Leland Vittert.

The cup will be based in Washington, DC and will feature one high-profile guest and four rotating panelists. They include NewsNation Politics Editor Chris Stirewalt, Senior Policy Contributor George Will, Communications Consultant Johanna Maska and Niall Stanage, Associate Editor of TheHill.com.

Rob Yarin will serve as the show’s executive producer. It airs at 5:00 PM ET and contradicts the Fox News panel show The five, now the most-watched cable news program. According to Nielsen, The five averaged 3.33 million viewers in the first two months of the year, while NewsNation’s current resident, rush houraverage 132,000.

Vittert continues to anchor In balance with Leland Vittert at 7 p.m. ET, with the show moving to a new studio in Washington.

Yarin joins NewsNation from Cox Media Group, where he managed the Washington office and led digital content strategy. He was also executive producer of NBC’s Meet the press from 2013 to 2015 and was EP for Hardball with Chris Matthews when it was on CNBC.
