Rolf Harris, 92, is being sued by a woman who claims he abused her at an Australian adventure camp in 1982 when she was 10, leaving her with “permanent mental damage”.

Rolf Harris is being sued by an alleged victim who claims the disgraced pedophile sexually assaulted her when she was ten years old at an Australian adventure camp.

The alleged victim claimed Harris, 92, assaulted her while she was at a Melbourne school holiday camp in 1982.

Harris, who suffers from throat cancer, was convicted at Southwark Crown Court in June 2014 of twelve counts of sexually assaulting four underage girls and sentenced to six years in prison. He was later released from prison in 2017.

Now another woman has claimed she was sexually assaulted by the disgraced child actor when she was 10 and in foster care.

The woman, who remains anonymous, said the alleged abuse she suffered left her with “permanent psychological damage”, reports The Age.

She claims she was sexually abused by Harris while visiting Camp Manyung in Mount Eliza, south of Melbourne, in 1982. The disgraced child artist apparently performed in the camp at the time.

The alleged victim claimed she and other children were introduced to him after one of Harris’ performances. The plaintiff says she gave Harris a card and he sat down next to her.

The woman said she spilled wax on her dress and tried to take it off when Harris offered to help her.

“Then he said he could help me get the laundry done,” the woman said in her claim. “It started helpfully.”

But the exchange quickly turned spooky, the woman claims.

She claims Harris pulled her onto his lap and put his hands on her leg and pulled her skirt up in front of him sexually harassed her.

“I remember feeling petrified, scared and panicked,” she said.

The alleged victim claimed she tried calling and yelling before running away from Harris.

The woman claims she told an employee about the abuse, but Harris called her a “lying brat.” Harris reportedly left the holiday camp as a result.

The claimant is also suing the State of Victoria and OzChild over a number of separate allegations of abuse in foster care.

The woman’s lead attorney, John Rule of the Maurice Blackburn law firm, said his client is seeking damages for the battery against Harris, adding that the alleged assault caused her lasting psychiatric damage.

“Her claims have been absolutely consistent since I first spoke to her two years ago and through our research we were able to confirm that Harris was in Australia and Victoria at the same time… he performed at the grand final in FL,” said Reël to The Alter.

“He was convicted in the UK of molesting other young girls and in similar circumstances [to my client]Rule said, adding that a trial date is expected to be set in early 2024.

He added: “We know this is a pattern of behaviour. There is real arrogance in his offence.’

Harris was found guilty by Southwark Crown Court in June 2014 of 12 assaults on the eight-year-old autograph hunter, two teenage girls and 16 years of abuse of his daughter’s boyfriend.

Some crimes were committed while his daughter was in the same room. He admitted to having an affair with the woman but said it did not start until she turned 18.

After those verdicts, he was stripped of his hat trick of honours, which included an MBE in 1968, an OBE in 1977 and a CBE in 2006, after serving five years and nine months in prison.

However, he was paroled by HMP Stafford in May 2017 after serving just three years of his sentence.

Since his release from prison, Harris has lived in seclusion in the English town of Bray, Berkshire, with his 64-year-old wife, Alwen Hughes, who has Alzheimer’s disease.

It was revealed last year that Harris was unable to speak or eat after being diagnosed with throat cancer and needed constant care.

Harris married his sculptor wife, Alwen, in March 1958 after meeting at art school. The couple has a daughter Bindi.

Best known for the hits “Tie Me Kangaroo Down Sport” and “Jake The Peg”, Harris also painted the late Queen Elizabeth II’s 80th birthday portrait.

He was the face of British Paints for more than three decades before being let go by the brand following his arrest in 2013.
