Three of Britain’s most in-demand creatives – James Graham, Michael Sheen and Adam Curtis – team up for a BBC drama about a civil uprising that begins in a small industrial town.
The distance was written by Sherwood Creator Graham, directed by Good omens Star Sheen in his TV directorial debut and the pair co-created with documentarian Curtis, whose previous credits include The power of nightmares And hypernormalization.
According to the BBC, the three-piece trio will “tackle the social and political chaos of today’s world” via a civil uprising. It follows the Driscolls, an ordinary family who become embroiled in a series of events and power struggles that force them to flee the country they have always called home and the certainties of their old lives.
