One of rock’s greatest albums has reportedly been re-recorded by one of its key architects.

Roger Waters has claimed in an interview that he has re-recorded the classic Pink Floyd rock epic The dark side of the moon without any of the other Pink Floyd members. Waters made the revelation on February 4 in an interview with the Berliner Zeitung. The interview was translated and published on Waters’ official website.

By re-recording the work — something artists Taylor Swift and Prince have done — Waters gains more control over his version of the work, something that has long been a point of contention between him and other band members.

Waters told the Berliner Zeitung that “the new concept is meant to reflect the meaning of the work, to bring out the heart and soul of the album,” he added, “musically and spiritually.”

Waters left Pink Floyd in 1985. He later sued the remaining members for their continued use of the band’s name. He lost this case.

Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour’s wife, Polly Samson, posted a tweet on Monday titled Waters anti-Semitic, “an apologist for Putin and a lying, thieving, hypocritical, tax dodging, lip syncing, misogynistic, disgusting , megalomaniac.”

“Every word is demonstrably true,” Gilmour responded to his wife’s comments on Twitter.

The new Waters version of Dark Side of the Moon is out in May, according to The Telegraph.
