Increased user tracking

To enforce its new regulations, Netflix does not hesitate to use drastic measures. The giant announced: ” Devices that identify themselves on Netflix without being associated with your primary address may be blocked. »

To avoid losing access to your account, you will need to do this connect to your home Wi-Fi network and look at least content every 31 days. Netflix also reserves the right to geolocate each connection by its IP address to detect fraud.

Likewise, the platform will have the right to interfere with your vacation. To continue using the service on the move, you will need to request a temporary code whose validity will not exceed… seven consecutive days.

Behind his drastic measures is obviously an earnings pursuit, Netflix estimating the number of families at over 100 million use of the platform thanks to the sharing of identifiers. Questioned by AFP, Greg Peters, the new co-managing director of the platform, said that this measure ” it won’t be a universally popular decision »and that Netflix is likely to experience a wave of terminations. However, ending account sharing seems to be a priority to increase its profits.
