APA names Lindsey Wirkus & Joe Amato as talent agents

EXCLUSIVE: APA announced Wednesday the promotion of talent department coordinators Lindsey Wirkus and Joe Amato to agents in the department.

The increases come at a time of major growth for the agency, which has greatly expanded its agent base over the past year while bolstering the strength of its roster. APA signed notable on-screen talent this month, including William H. Macy, Maria Bello, Donnie Yen and Adult Star Trevor Jackson. Bold names joining in the second half of 2022 include Regina Hall, Ken Jeong, Nathalie Emmanuel, Marc Maron, Rosa Salazar, Michael Rainey Jr., Brianna Hildebrand, Russell Hornsby and Michael Cera.

Wirkus will be based in Los Angeles, with Amato headquartered in New York.

APA President Jim Osborne and Head of Global Talent Andrew Rogers told Deadline: “Both Lindsey and Joe have demonstrated over many years the qualities required to become a great agent, namely a passion for business, the process, a meticulous attention to detail and the enthusiasm to make it happen for our clients.

“We have hired 18 senior agents from ICM, CAA and UTA and acquired over 300 new clients in the last 6 months alone,” the pair added. “It’s essential that agents work together at all levels to get our clients the work they want and deserve, and Lindsey and Joe will help us tremendously.”

A Minnesota native, Wirkus joined APA in 2021 as an executive assistant to Osborne. Under his guidance, he served clients such as Mary J. Blige, Gary Oldman, 50 Cent and Tyrese Gibson. In January 2022, she was promoted to talent coordinator and during her tenure in that role, she demonstrated her eye for emerging talent. The University of Minnesota-Twin Cities graduate, with a degree in Journalism and Advertising, worked as a sales representative for the Meredith Model & Talent Agency in Minnesota before joining West Coast boutique agency Bella and then making the jump to APA made.

Born in Brooklyn, Amato began his career in marketing before moving on to represent Buchwald’s commercial VO department. His ambitions in television and film led him to join APA’s New York office in 2018 as an assistant to Sasha Passero. as co-head of the talent department.
