The “Method Acting” of comedians makes no excuse for being a big jerk, and it’s starting to catch on

Many actors, including Jared Leto, are supporters of The Method, an acting technique that supports action, both on and off the set, to immerse yourself in your character. But according to Mads Mikkelsen, it shouldn’t be used as an excuse to act like an idiot!

In addition to his on-screen performances, Jared Leto is known for his particularly impressive physical transformations, as in Gucci house by Ridley Scott, and for his excessive behavior on film sets.

Behaviors condemned by other actors, including Mads Mikkelsen and Will Poulter, who accuse supporters of the Method (a game technique practiced by Jared Leto), of using it to behave in a reprehensible way.

As for Jared Leto’s behavior on the set of Morbiowhere it would have been particularly unmanageable under the guise of practicing “the Method”, this game technique was called into question.

The Method, also called the Stanislavski System or Method Acting in English, is a particularly naturalistic acting technique.

Its definition is as follows: The Method works on improvisation, sensory memory research, the past of the character, the psychological gesture, etc. But the first principle of this naturalistic acting technique consists above all in experiencing the circumstances of the role, which is particularly evident in hers Management books, which show how Stanislavsky offered his actors, alongside the text and technical notations, precise psychological indications on the state of the character in this or that moment of the drama. »

A method that Jared Leto notably used to build his character on the set of Morbioin theaters from March 30.

During an interview with The Independent magazine, Will Poulter (Mid summer, the avenger, Detroit) confided that he’s not particularly a fan of the Method:

“For me this school is not necessary. On the Detroit set, my African American co-workers – whom my character had to bully – and I were very close in this challenge, and we got to know each other. »

Poulter adds that regardless of the characterization process, the main thing is to consider others and treat them with respect. If the method creates an inhospitable environment, it should not be used.

The plaintiff clarifies that the Method should not be used as an excuse to behave inappropriately.

Before Will Poulter, Mads Mikkelsen had already come forward, even going so far as to call the Method “bullshit”.

Jared Leto has been using the Method for some time now. On the set of Morbiohe would have been a particularly annoying playmate and, again, that’s nothing compared to his attitude on the set of Suicide squadin 2016, where, to put himself in the shoes of his infamous character, he sent a mouse via parcel post to Margot Robbie and a dead pig to Viola Davis.

Actions that push the concept of Method too far and are quite abusive.

It should therefore be specified that no professional technique, regardless of its purpose, should ever be used to terrorize others.

It sounds corny but it obviously didn’t reach Jared Leto’s ears.
