A few weeks ago, my oven abandoned me like a bastard. After years of good and faithful service, years of chocolate cakes, goat cheese crackers and other gratins, he decided to leave us, without warning.
Only that in the family we are a bit addicted to sweets, it’s a fact. And since we don’t have the budget to buy an oven right now, I decided to fit in to avoid sugar shortages (it’s a joke, huh, we don’t do IVs or Candy).
So, I thought you might also be interested in having easy-to-make little dessert recipes, all without having to own an oven, what am I saying, THE GRAIL.

Attention, we are looking for the ultra simple and the ultra good.
For this recipe you will need:
- 250 g of dark chocolate
- 250 g of butter
- 250 g of icing sugar
- 1 pack of cornflakes (about 375g)
Melt the chocolate and butter together in a double boiler or in the microwave. Once it has melted and smells like chocolate throughout the house, remove the pan from the heat and add the powdered sugar. Stir, stir to get a nice homogeneity. Put your cornflakes in a salad bowl and pour your preparation over them.
Once done, put small blocks of your mixture into individual molds, or you can also flatten them on sulfo paper placed on a baking sheet (if that’s all you have left of the last one, that bastard of stop).
And toss, in the fridge until very cold and solidified!

Usually this is a recipe I make around Christmas time, but who cares, Christmas is all year round, kestuvasfaire.
For this very simple recipe, you will need:
- 200 g of dark chocolate (pastry chef)
- 150 ml of liquid cream
- 20 g of butter
- Unsweetened cocoa powder
- little extra things if you wish, such as flaked almonds, chopped hazelnuts, grated coconut…
Then melt the chocolate and cream together in a saucepan over low heat, until smooth. Butter is added, tossed, tossed and left to cool. Once warm, put it in the fridge for at least 1 hour.
Is it good, is it cold? Well, now roll some ganache balls with your hands, and then dip them in what you prefer: cocoa powder, almonds, hazelnuts, grated coconut…
And if you don’t eat them all right away, you can keep them in the fridge in a small box. And there you go!

This dessert is my favorite in the whole world. And not just because it’s my boyfriend’s specialty!
To make this completely addictive recipe, you’ll need:
- 3 eggs
- 80 g of sugar
- 250 g of mascarpone
- A pack of speculoos biscuits
- 1 sachet of vanilla sugar
- cocoa powder
First step, separate the yolks from the whites in two different bowls. Mix together the egg yolks, sugar and vanilla sugar. Stir, stir, until the mixture turns white. Then gently fold the mascarpone into the mixture.
In another bowl, you can beat the eggs. With the strength of the wrist (courage), or with the help of a beater. And then you gently incorporate them into the large bowl with all your ready-made mixture.
For dressing, you can do it in a large dish or in small ramekins to create an individual format.
Whichever you choose, the steps to follow are: break off small pieces of speculoos in the bottom of the dish, cover with the mixture, add a layer of speculoos and add more mixture. Then it is sprinkled with cocoa and, if there is any leftover, pieces of speculoos can be placed on top.
Leave everything in the fridge between 12 and 24 hours. A word of advice: the fresher it is, the more it tastes.
I hope these little recipes make you as hungry as I am! You can also share yours in the comments, just to increase ours sugar rush collective.
