Steve Buscemi signs with UTA

EXCLUSIVE: UTA has signed award-winning actor, director, writer and producer Steve Buscemi and his Olive Productions banner to represent on all fronts.

Buscemi currently stars alongside Daniel Radcliffe in the TBS comedy series miracle worker which is executive produced by Lorne Michaels. He starred in the HBO drama, Boardwalk Empirewhich earned him a Golden Globe Award, two Screen Actors Guild Awards and two Emmy nominations.

He was also nominated for an Emmy for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Tony Blundetto in season five The sopranos and was Emmy nominated for Guest Actor for his performances on NBC’s 30 stones and IFCs Portlandia.

Some of his film credits include those of Martin Scorsese New York Stories; by Jim Jarmusch Mysterious train for which he received an IFP Spirit Award nomination; Winner of the Sundance Film Festival Jury Prize by Alexandre Rockwell In the soup; Judd Apatows The King of Staten Island; and many of Adam Sandler’s films.

He has appeared in commercials for Beats by Dre, IBM and Superbowl commercials by Snickers and Michelob.

Buscemi is also a respected writer and director. He made his debut as a director on the short film what happened to peter; his film directorial debut was underway tree lounge, in which he acted and wrote. It was nominated for Best First Feature and Best First Screenplay by the Independent Spirit Awards.

Buscemi’s second feature film as director, animal factorypremiered at the Sundance Film Festival and its third, Lonely Jimwas named one of the top ten independent films of the year by the National Board of Review.

His fourth film maintenance, in which he starred opposite Sienna Miller, also debuted at the Sundance Film Festival. Buscemi’s directing work also includes numerous television appearances.

As a producer, Buscemi co-founded the independent film and television production company Olive Productions with producer Wren Arthur. The company produces a range of TV projects, feature films and documentaries, including Buscemi’s most recent feature film as director, The listener that Tessa Thompson and the premiere in the Giornate de Gliautori section of the Venice Film Festival. Some of the company’s other credits include documentaries from HBO A Good Job: Stories from the FDNYand the Emmy-winning interview series Park bench with Steve Buscemi.

Buscemi and Olive will continue to be repped by The Gotham Group.
