Kanye West’s response to his anti-Semitic remarks may be the reason why he is denied entry to Australia. Sky News reported the rapper is planning a trip Down Under to visit his partner’s family.
“People who have applied for visas to enter Australia in the past have been refused,” Education Minister Jason Clare said in an interview with Channel Nine. “I assume that if he signs up, he’ll have to go through the same process and answer the same questions as them.”
West, whose name is Ye, made a series of anti-Semitic remarks in October 2022 and doubled down on his feelings while going on an interview tour, including Fox News’ Tucker Carlson’s show and The store, who ended up scrapping the episode due to the severity of his comments. The rapper was subsequently dropped from Adidas and other deals.

Despite Elon Musk reversing Twitter’s ban, West was banned again after tweeting a picture of a swastika in a Star of David.
The co-chief executive officer of the Executive Council of Australian Jewry, Peter Wertheim, said on Tuesday officials had “a sympathetic hearing” over the West’s entry ban to Australia.
“We argued that this particular individual fails the character test and that it would be in the national interest not to grant him a visa, and we set out our reasons in this letter,” Wertheim said.
