Lisa Joy, the Emmy-nominated writer, director and producer of shows such as Western world and push daisieswas chosen as Jury President for this year’s Series Mania Festival and its international competition.
Laurence Herszberg, Founder and CEO, and Frederic Lavigne, Artistic Director of Series Mania, made the announcement at a cocktail event at the Général de France in Los Angeles.
“We are pleased to announce here in Los Angeles that the versatile, remarkably versatile Lisa Joy will be our judge for the upcoming edition of Series Mania. Lisa’s experience and passion for creating complex and big-screen stories, along with her many credits, including the hugely successful drama series Westworld, make her the perfect choice to lead our international judging panel. We look forward to welcoming them to Lille,” said Herszberg.
Joy, along with other judges to be announced soon, will be present in Lille to present the Grand Prix for Best Series, as well as the Best Actress, Best Actor and Best Screenplay awards.
“I am very excited to serve as a judge for Series Mania 2023. The festival is an inspiring celebration of the great, diverse and international stories told on television. It’s also a community of some of the most exciting storytellers and new voices working today. I am honored to be a part of it,” Joy added.
Additional prizes will be awarded at the closing ceremony on March 24. As part of Series Mania, March 21-23, 2023 will see the Series Mania Forum, the branch of the festival, with the Lille Dialogues on March 23. .
