The final trailer for “The End”, one of the most anticipated premieres of the year, has arrived. Florian Zeller’s drama will be released in Russian cinemas on February 23, and the film had its world premiere at the 79th Venice Film Festival in September last year.
This is the second installment of Florian Zeller’s hysterical family trilogy (the first film, Father, won two Oscars for screenplay and best actor for Anthony Hopkins). Set in New York City, Peter (Hugh Jackman) has a strained relationship with his new partner Beth (Vanessa Kirby) and their joint young child. And things get even more complicated when Peter’s ex-wife (Laura Dern) appears on the horizon with her teenage son.

“Everything from Sophocles to Shakespeare is based on family. Writers may arbitrarily invent sublime concepts, but in the end, the world’s greatest storytellers admit that there is nothing stronger than the bond between children and their parents.” – Variety.
Critics call this role of Hugh Jackman the best of his career, and at the Golden Globes the actor was even nominated for Best Actor, but sadly lost to Austin Butler, who starred in Elvis. Meanwhile, Anthony Hopkins will star in The Son and Hans Zimmer wrote the music for the film.
