EXCLUSIVE: Management and production company Navigation Media Group, best known for film and television professionals, is expanding with the addition of Kegan Schell as literary manager.
Schell is a passionate advocate for queer and underrepresented talent who will work with a variety of horror and genre creators at Navigation. He comes from Echo Lake Entertainment, where he worked for six years. It was there that he first came into contact with Navigation co-founder James Engle while working as an assistant.
Schell brings a list of clients including Tom Hanada (Homeland: Fort Salem), Jess Carson (The Lightning), Meredith Kecskemety (The Legend of Vox Machina), Alyssa & Griffin Devine (portals), Todd Stephens (swan song) and Addison Heimann (hypochondriac). While Navigation is headquartered in Los Angeles and has teams in both LA and Vancouver, Schell will be the company’s first member to work out of New York.
Ben C. Silverman, co-founder of Engle and Navigation, said: “Kegan’s vision for his clients, his commitment to their success and his work ethic are second to none. We are proud to welcome him and his incredible list of clients to the navigation team. He is the right person at the right time as the company continues to grow and his contribution will be essential in the future.”
Schell added: “I am delighted to be joining the Navigation Media Group team and to be reunited with my mentor James Engle. I look forward to meaningfully expanding Navigation’s footprint and continuing to serve our incredibly talented customers.”
Schell cut his teeth under Chuck and Rebecca Roven, assisting on the DC Superhero films suicide squad, Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice and wonder woman before joining Echo Lake, where he was promoted from assistant to literature manager in just over two years.
Veteran literary executives Engle and Silverman announced the launch of Navigation in April 2022.
