Batman is dead, and the Joker is on a crusade to find his killer in the new DC anime project "Joker: Laugh Riot."

The series explores the dynamic between the two characters, who are portrayed as two sides of the same coin. The absence of Batman deeply affects the Joker, whose only intention is usually to make the hero react. The death of the bat gives him an obvious reason for anger.
Gotham crusade
Following the murder, the Joker searches the darkest parts of Gotham to find the person who took his greatest rival.
As his violent mission leads him to act more like a vigilante than a villain, the Joker is forced to face the harsh reality that he does not really know who he is without Batman.
The Joker's character is expected to work well in the anime format, as his psychopathic, twisted, unpredictable and extravagant nature fits the visual genre's major villains.
Release status
Warner Bros., DC and SOLA Entertainment have not announced a release date for the series, though it could arrive in 2027.
In other DC animation news, the series "Batman: Caped Crusader", produced by Matt Reeves, has returned for a second season on Prime Video.
The show, which premiered in 2022, aims to rewrite the main villains of the franchise.
