The Iranian military announced on Sunday, August 16, that it will offer cash rewards to Iranian citizens who capture or kill American soldiers.
Under the decision articulated by Chief of Staff Amir Hatami, an Iranian man who succeeds in capturing or killing an American soldier will receive 30,000 euros, while an Iranian woman will receive double that amount.

The announcement was reported by the official IRNA news agency. Hatami noted that numerous individuals had expressed a personal desire to contribute financially toward funding the military bounties.
Bounty Requirements and Financial Rewards
According to the military statement, anyone who kills or captures an American military invader and delivers them to the armed forces of the Islamic Republic will receive a reward of 30,000 euros, which the announcement specified as five million tomans.

The toman is an unofficial Iranian currency unit equivalent to 10,000 rials. In Iranian commerce, price figures are frequently calculated in tomans to simplify large numbers, although the rial remains the official currency issued by the Central Bank of Iran.
The military statement emphasized that the term invader specifically applies to foreign military personnel violating Iranian territory. The United States military has not engaged in ground operations inside Iran, with the sole exception of a pilot rescue mission conducted in April.

Hatami specifically highlighted the role of female participants in the initiative, emphasizing that brave Iranian women who carry out such an act should receive double the financial reward, setting their potential payout at 60,000 euros.
Background on Iranian Military and State Media
Amir Hatami serves as the Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, holding executive responsibility over military planning and joint operations for the Islamic Republic of Iran. The military hierarchy oversees national defense across land, air, and naval branches based in Tehran.

The Islamic Republic News Agency, known universally as IRNA, is Iran's primary state-owned news organization. Managed under the Iranian Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, IRNA distributes official announcements on behalf of government ministries and military commanders.
Relations between Iran and the United States have involved long-standing diplomatic and military friction across the Middle East. Despite tense security standoff scenarios in regional waters, direct physical encounters between American soldiers and Iranian military personnel on Iranian territory remain historic rarities.
